How is recommendation different from referral?

One of the five sections of a service provider profile is 'Recommendations'. This is the place to share the email address of people who are ready to recommend you / vouch for you as a person. This could be anyone from your teacher to your manager at work. It can also be any respected individual in the society, who holds a responsible position or role in an organisation, who knows you well. Having such people recommend you increases your credibility.

Inform them before you share their email address with us; so that they expect communication from us and are ready with their recommendation for you. Once you have shared their email address with us, please ask them to check the spam folder too for YoCo emails.

'Referrals' on the other hand are people whom you can refer to this platform to register as a service provider, just like you. If you think any of your friends or family members can reap benefits by joining us, you can share their contact information.

Recommendations are FOR you. Referrals are BY you.
